Terms of Service
The agreement between you and Approval Paths: what the tool does, what you pay, and what it does not promise.
Last updated 9 September 2026.
What this agreement covers
These terms apply whenever you use approvalpaths.com. By using the site you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the site.
What Approval Paths is
Approval Paths is an educational self-assessment tool. You describe a purchase you are considering and your own financial position, and we estimate how likely that purchase is to be approved, what is holding it back, and what to change first.
That is the whole of it. Approval Paths is not a lender, not a broker, not a bank, not a credit repair organization, not a credit counselor and not a consumer reporting agency. We do not lend money, we do not arrange credit, we do not apply on your behalf, we do not dispute anything on your credit file, and we do not contact any bureau or lender about you.
We do not check your credit
We run no credit check of any kind, soft or hard. Using Approval Paths cannot change your credit score. Every number we show is calculated only from the figures you typed in.
Estimates, not decisions
Your Approval Score, the estimated rates and payments, and the ready-by date are educational estimates. They are not an offer of credit, not a pre-approval, not a pre-qualification and not a promise that anyone will approve you. Real decisions depend on your full credit file, verified income and employment, the specific product, and the lender's own policy on the day you apply. Lenders may reach a different conclusion, and often will.
We do not guarantee approval, a rate, a limit or a term, and nothing on this site should be read as that guarantee.
Not professional advice
Nothing here is financial, legal, tax or accounting advice, and nothing here creates a professional relationship between you and us. Decisions about borrowing money are yours. If the amounts matter to you, talk to a qualified professional before you act.
What you put in is what you get out
The result is only as good as the figures you enter. If you guess at your credit score, your income or your debts, the estimate will be wrong in the same direction. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter.
Who can use it
You must be at least 18 years old and using the service for a purchase in the United States. You may use it only for yourself, not to assess someone else without their knowledge.
Your account
Keep your password to yourself and tell us straight away if you think someone else has it. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Everything you tell us must be true, and you must keep your email address current so we can reach you.
What you pay for
There are two things you can buy, and they are different:
- A single one-time payment unlocks the full detail of one result: your score, your strengths, every blocker, the key factors and the full chart, for that one assessment. It is not a subscription and it does not renew.
- A subscription unlocks all of that plus the personalized plan, monthly action items, progress tracking, the what-if simulator, the payment calculator, switching between goals, and re-scoring for as long as the subscription is active.
The prices in force are the ones shown on the pricing page and on the checkout screen at the moment you pay. Running the calculator is free.
Billing, renewal and cancellation
Payments are handled by Stripe. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, at the price you were charged when you subscribed, until you cancel.
You can cancel at any time from your account. Canceling stops the next payment and leaves your access running until the end of the period you already paid for. We do not offer partial refunds for the unused part of a period.
If a payment fails, we will retry it. If it keeps failing we may pause or end the subscription and the paid features stop.
Refunds
If something went wrong, write to us and tell us what happened. We would rather fix it than argue about it. Refunds outside that are at our discretion. If we fully refund a one-time unlock, the result it paid for goes back behind the paywall.
Price and plan changes
We may change prices or what a plan includes. If you already subscribe, the price you are paying stays as it is until we tell you otherwise by email, and you will always have the chance to cancel before a new price applies to you.
How you may not use it
- Do not try to break into, overload, scrape or reverse engineer the service.
- Do not use it to assess someone else without their permission, or for any unlawful purpose.
- Do not resell, republish or redistribute your results as if they were your own product.
- Do not upload anything you do not have the right to upload.
We can suspend or close an account that does any of this.
What belongs to whom
The site, the scoring model, the text and the design belong to Approval Paths. What you type in belongs to you; you give us only the permission we need to run the service for you and to keep it working.
Availability
We work to keep the service up but we do not promise it will never be down. We may change or withdraw features. If we withdraw something you are paying for, you can cancel.
Where we stand if something goes wrong
The service is provided as it is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for a lending decision made by anyone else, for a purchase you did or did not make, or for indirect or consequential loss. Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Some states do not allow certain limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Ending it
You can delete your account at any time from Account, then Settings. We may close an account that breaches these terms. When an account closes, access to paid features ends.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms we will update the date at the top, and we will email people who have accounts before a material change takes effect.
